My relationship with Rekluse began way back in 2005. My good friend, ex-pro rider Ty Wallace turned me on to what he thought might be the ideal shifting mechanism for me—the z-Start clutch. Ty knew that racing with one arm was a big enough challenge in itself; he felt that my performance might benefit with the use of the z-Start. He was right.

In 2006, I was fortunate enough to meet up with Charles in Daytona. Through him I was able to update my Rekluse products and equipment. Currently, I am using the z-Start Pro in both my Yamaha YZ250F and my YZ450F.

About a week ago, I invested in a 2009 Yamaha YZ250. I've ridden it twice, and all I can say is I can't wait until my new Rekluse clutch comes in! Although I was having a blast on my new ride, I was definitely missing my Rekluse equipment.

Fun and games aside though, I have to mention how my Rekluse z-Start Pro saved me from what could have been a devastating injury last year. I was riding practice on my YZ250F—having a great time until my bike locked up on a large tabletop jump. My Rekluse kept my rear wheel from locking up, allowing me to land in one, safe piece. I don't think I've ever been so thankful for a specific part in all my years of riding!
